Greedy ghouls. If you think having this be """open-source""" on github will fend off anti-trust cases, you are a fools. Your masters at Google will throw you under the bus in a second. You'll see fines and prison long before your higher-ups ever do. If you value your own legal safety, abandon this project and abandon Google. The fact that you are being asked to do this is literally putting yourselves in legal jeopardy.

EDIT: Oh yeah. And all of you get lawyers RIGHT NOW and start taking notes on everything happening around you, every communication you make in the company. Get EVERYTHING in writing. You will need it.

To quote twhaples' comment:

I would like to respectfully add my suggestion that Ben Wiser (Google), Borbala Benko (Google), Philipp Pfeiffenberger (Google), and Sergey Kataev (Google) all take this opportunity to engage a personal lawyer and seek legal advice, i.e. do not defer to the corporate counsel (Google), who may not have their best interests in mind. Antitrust law is real. Some violations are crimes.
